This week, Prague hosts the Billie Jean King Cup – an updated version of the Fed Cup.

The Cup is now played in a week in one city: first, 12 teams hold the group stage, and then the four best are sorted out according to the Olympic system. Each meeting now has not five matches, but three – two singles and a pair.

It was originally planned that the tournament would take place in April in Budapest, but due to the pandemic, plans were thwarted. However, the BDK Cup still managed to find a place and time.

True, the time was chosen rather unusual – it takes place right before the final WTA tournament, which also moved to Guadalajara this year. Including because of this, only one top-10 tennis player made it to Prague – the leader of Czech tennis Barbora Kreichikova, who, however, at the end of the year gave up a little and lost both singles matches.

All this is a preamble to the fact that under these conditions the Russian national team arrived in Prague with the strongest line-up. 12 top 40 tennis players are playing in the Czech Republic this week, five of them for Russia.

The following matches were played: Lyudmila Samsonova beat Sloane Stevens – 1:6, 6:4, 6:3; Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova lost to Danielle Collins – 7:6, 6:7, 2:6; Lyudmila Samsonova and Veronica Kudermetova played with Shelby Rogers and Coco Vandevey – 6:3, 6:3.

Canelo is again a clear favorite. He has one belt left to the absolute

Saul Alvarez makes history very calmly and methodically. He is confidently stepping up to the title of the most titled Mexican fighter of all time. He will not be the best. And not because of the quality of boxing, but because a boxer of this type will never be perceived as a Mexican.

On the line at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will not only be Alvarez’s collection of WBA, WBC and WBO hardware that back up his claim to be the best of the 168-pounders, but also his current standings as both the sport’s pay-per-view bell cow and its top pound-for-pound fighter.
“There have been some guys who lost before the bell even rang against Canelo,”

said Plant during a virtual press conference in late October. “I think that’s why he’s so irritated with me. Some guys just come in and are there to hand over their belt, get their check and leave.

Perhaps Caleb is even more complicated than Saunders. First of all, because of psychological stability. It is psychologically impossible to break a plant at all. The main weapon of the American – movement and jab. With his front hand, he works no less skillfully than Canelo, so there will be no time to rest in the ring.
